Qualification Details

The candidate must have a PhD in chemistry.

  • The candidate is required to have a strong background in oxidative asymmetric aminocatalysis and organocatalysis more broadly
  • The candidate is required to have significant experience in synthesis and design of organocatalysts
  • The candidate must exhibit proficiency in designing configurationally stable compounds featuring axial chirality and the related challenges in describing and addressing this peculiar type of stereoisomerism
  • The candidate must have experience in mentoring undergraduate students that are part of the research group

Responsibilities/Job Description

The successful candidates will be involved in research dealing with asymmetric oxidative organocatalysis using quinones as oxidants as well as exploring the possibility to include into synergistic pathways. The candidate must also have a background in the organocatalytic enantioselective synthesis of axially chiral N-heterocycles. The candidate will have to work in collaboration with other members of the Jørgensen Group.
