Postdoctoral Fellow in Novel electrocatalysts and processes for the electrochemical valorization of nitrite and CO2

Altogether, PSI employs 2200 people.For the Electrochemistry Laboratory LEC we are looking for aPostdoctoral FellowNovel electrocatalysts and processes for the electrochemical valorization of nitrite and CO2

Your tasks

  • Develop novel approaches for the reduction of CO2 to added-value products in organic electrolytes and at high current densities (i.e., electrosynthesis)
  • Explore novel catalysts for the electroreduction of nitrite to valuable adducts
  • Quantitiatively analyse the products of the above reactions
  • Prepare written summaries and presentations of your main results for periodic reporting to project partners
  • Publish the results of these works in well-regarded journals

Your profile

  • PhD degree in chemistry, materials science or related field
  • Solid background in electrochemistry
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Creative, hands-on personality
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
  • Well-developed communication skills, self-organization for periodic progress reporting and good command of the english language (spoken and written)
  • Knowledge in online analytics and/or electrocatalyst synthesis would be a welcome asset
