Job description

Research and teaching are in the absolute world elite in the field of energy, and we have extensive and leading workshop and laboratory facilities, where research and innovation are carried out in direct collaboration with industry to a great extent. The position is offered in relation to the research program”Low-power energy harvesting and i-solutions” and the Assistant Professor will be positioned to the section for“Thermal Engineering”.
Research areas will be within piezoelectricity for energy harvesting technologies, modeling and simulations of piezoelectric systems for various applications, and experimental testing within vibration and dynamic fields. Teaching will primarily be in low-power energy conversion technologies, but also in other study programmes at the University.It is expected that the candidate has a rich background in field of energy harvesting using piezoelectricity as well as substantial analytical competencies in modeling of piezoelectric materials and modules.Publications within these fields are advantageous. In addition, previous research grants are plus. It is expected that the candidate has a PhD within the energy and mechanical engineering fields and demonstrates well-developed research activities at an international level. It will be appreciated that the candidate’s approach to research and teamwork is characterized by an open and inclusive mind-set.

Qualification requirements:
Appointment as an Assistant Professor presupposes scientific qualifications at PhD–level or similar scientific qualifications. The research potential of each applicant will be emphasized in the overall assessment.
Appointment as an Assistant Professor cannot exceed a period of four years in total in a temporary position(appointment at Assistant Professor level cannot exceed a period of eight years in total in Denmark).The application must contain the following:
