Qualification Details

The Faculty of Dentistry has a strategic ambition to be among Europe’s leading communities for research, education and innovation. Candidates for these fellowships will be selected in accordance with this, and expected to be in the upper segment of their class with respect to academic credentials. For all three candidates, we require:

  • Applicants must hold a Master’s degree equivalent to a Norwegian Master’s degree in the relevant field of research or equivalent studies that have been recognised by the faculty as forming a sufficient basis for admission.
  • the average grade point for courses included in the Bachelor’s degree must be C or better in the Norwegian educational system
  • the average grade point for courses included in the Master’s degree must be B or better in the Norwegian educational system
  • the Master’s thesis must have the grade B or better in the Norwegian educational system
  • Fluent oral and written communication skills in English or and a Scandinavian language.
  • Fluent oral and written communication skills in a Scandinavian language is required for a 4-year fellowship including teaching duties.

We are seeking in total 3 PhD Research Fellows for these positions:

  • PhD 1 – Project: Tannic acid nanocoatings: promoting cell adhesion and wound healing response around dental implants.

About the Department/Section/Group

The Faculty of Dentistry is one of the leading odontological research and educational institutions in Europe. The faculty's research groups contribute top research within several odontological fields.

In addition to educating dentists and dental hygienists, the Faculty has Ph.D program and professional-oriented specialist education. The Faculty holds significant competence in the various research and clinical disciplines, with good interdisciplinary collaboration. It is a modern faculty with approximately 450 students and approximately 450 employees. The faculty is also Norway's largest dental clinic with approximately 55,000 patient visits a year. The Faculty of Dentistry has two departments: Institute of Clinical Dentistry and Department of Oral Biology.
