Qualification Details

Knowledge and experience in MRI (especially rapid undersampled MRI and/or MR flow imaging) and deep learning, is considered beneficial. A strong track-record of papers published in highly regarded journals is a prerequisite, as are communication skills, ability to work in team and independently.

The applicant should have a good command of English both orally and in writing.

The position requires a doctorate/PhD or an equivalent degree. The doctorate/PhD shall have been obtained no longer than three years before the expiration date of the application. For this position, applicants with a doctorate/PhD obtained at a university other than Linköping University may be prioritized.

Responsibilities/Job Description

This postdoc position is for a project that aims to develop a novel method to study heart valve disease using magnetic resonance (MR) flow imaging. The project will be conducted in a multidisciplinary research environment at the Center for Medical Image Science and Visualization (www.liu.se/cmiv) at Linköping University Hospital. The project focuses on the development of methods for the acquisition and analysis of disturbed blood flow in the heart using MR imaging. The work may include MR pulse programming and/or the use of deep learning for MR image reconstruction and analysis. The methods developed in the project will be applied in patients with valvular heart disease and healthy individuals. An integral part of the work is to publish the conducted research in scientific journals.

A postdoc will primarily carry out research. The position may also involve teaching, but during no more than a fifth of work time.
