Job Description

In the dynamic context of a research institute (Institut Romand de Systématique et d’Éthique) and a faculty project (For a theology at the meeting of religions), the Faculty of Theology is inviting a post-doctoral position -e. In a framework of good friendly emulation and numerous and frequent intellectual exchanges, this position makes it possible both to develop skills in the organization of an Institute and its international scientific activities and to flesh out a profile of a researcher in the field of interreligious and comparative theology. It requires skills in systematic theology.

The post-doctoral student therefore pursues, under the responsibility of the professor of the discipline, aresearch activity, by devoting part of his/her activity rate (60%) to the constitution of a file ofscientific publications. in the field of interreligious and comparative theology, and its valorization in activities of presentation and dissemination of research, both in the academic world and in the city.

He/she actively participates in research projects in interreligious dialogue and the theology of religions carried out by the Faculty of Theology and collaborates in seminars, colloquia and publications in the field, under the responsibility of the professor specializing in the field.

She/he will also collaborate in the events of the Romand Institute of Systematics and Ethics (IRSE), of which she/he is a scientific collaborator and secretary. This implies working (for 40% of the activity rate) on the organization of the Institute’s activities.

She/he participates in various activities of the Faculty of Theology.

Title and skills required

Doctorate in theology or a title deemed equivalent, obtained less than five years ago.

Specific skills desired:- ability to develop and conduct research projects independently (published articles or/and books);- excellent knowledge of the interreligious field, of current works and debates;- The ability to work in a team ;- Mastering French;- proficiency in scientific writing in English;- good knowledge of modern languages; reading German.

Required diploma

Doctorate in theology or a qualification deemed equivalent, obtained within the last five years

Required skills include:

– ability to develop and conduct research projects independently (published articles and/or books);- excellent knowledge of the interreligious field, current questions and debates;

– ability to work in a team;

– mastery of French;

– proficiency in academic writing in English

– good knowledge of modern languages; reading skills in German.

Starting date August 1, 2023 (or another date to be mutually agreed upon)

The supervisor is the holder of the chair of systematic theology with an emphasis on interreligious dialogue .
